His Ersari Turkmon influenced designs have since become the quintessential red tribal rug that is known and loved the world over.
The centre of Khal Mohammadi rug production is around the Afghan city of Qunduz (Kunduz). The reds used are often rich and vibrant with very dark blues and blacks.
